Jess Fu is a DJ, award-winning music journalist, and the mind behind CRASHER. Born and raised in Aotearoa, Jess has worked from Australia to LA, having contributed to indie music cornerstones like RNZ, NTS, and Dublab. After years of navigating the commercial pitfalls of the music industry, Jess decided to put her experience and ethos into something she could call her own. In 2024, she founded CRASHER, a booking agency dedicated to platforming an eclectic lineup of established and emerging artists.
In Jess’s own words, “CRASHER is here to party, and here to stay”
This September, Jess Fu and CRASHER are taking over the Metro Social for a month-long residency. Every Wednesday, a carefully curated lineup of local and interstate indie acts will take the stage. Alt-rock, bedroom pop, and experimental jazz will clash week after week. All shows are free with a simple RSVP — yes, you read that correctly. In an economy where Banh Mi have hit double digits (fairly), and shoes cost more than rent, this is a no-brainer.

Thanks to Jess Fu for taking the time to chat. If you’re in Sydney, don’t miss CRASHER‘s ‘On The Pulse’. Every Wednesday has an incredible lineup. For all ticket info, click here.
