Resident Evil is back. But did it ever really leave?
Since debuting in 1996, Resident Evil (RE) has sunk its teeth into pop culture. Starting life as a PlayStation title, it took less than a decade for RE to hit the big screen. Since then, both video games and films have seen multiple instalments. While RE as a property has never been more popular, its filmic IP has been left on life support, with 2021’s Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City being critically slammed like a Chris Redfield haymaker into the skull of a zombie.
However, if one man could breathe life back into RE’s cinematic cadaver, it would be Zach Cregger. Check out our review below. Spoiler alert: we were into it just as much as Leon Kennedy loves Ada Wong (an informed assumption on our part).
